My name is Carin Reynolds (pronounced Karen) and I am super excited to develop this blog as a tool for the craft and sign industry. My background primarily comes from approximately 30+ years in the sign and printing trade.

I grew up as a sign child, learning to hand letter (paint) signs, operating crane and bucket trucks, wiring, installing and servicing channel letters and lighted signage.

Later in the 80’s, vinyl started working it’s way into the industry and eventually we started incorporating it into almost every sign we manufactured. As we grew, we incorporated computers for designing and I became a self taught graphic designer.

I also dabbled in faux painting for commercial and residential homes as I worked in the sign industry. Using knowledge from making signs helped me launch a successful 7-1/2 year painting business and meet some great artists around the country whom I now call friends.

Later I opened my own sign company and concentrated on business branding. We developed logos, marketing strategies, websites, t-shirts and apparel for businesses. A few years later my husband took a big job in Houston, TX and we sold out and moved south. I am currently employed by a vinyl distributor and concentrate on the craft industry.

I hope this blog becomes a useful source for you to learn and teach others. Thank you for visiting!
